Charles Champignon took his training from the age of six, earned his guns at nineteen, and is schooled besides in the old order of sword work carried down from Arthur's knights. His first duty after earning his guns was the hanging of Hax, and it has stayed with him ever since. He rides out with an expedition sent to stop a party of John Farson's men, and unlike other gunslingers he says plainly that he fears Farson's forces are growing too fast to be stopped.
