Venli is a Parshendi scholar, a student of the songs that hold her people's memory and sister to the war leader Eshonai.
Venli leads a small team of listener researchers who work in nimbleform, the lithe shape her people take for delicate work. She has devised a script of her own so the songs can be set down on paper, and her team has spent years recording them from the elders. Thin-faced, with red and white marbling and deep red hair to her waist, she argues that her people need the ancient forms of power more than talks with the humans, and she announces that she has found the secret of stormform.
