The Crier

A crier carries a writ of the king's words bound between two cloth covered boards, though she has the proclamation by heart, and she reads it out to one battalion square after another across the warcamp. She is a plump, lighteyed young woman with strands of red hair mixed into the black, which speaks to Veden or Horneater blood, and a long black eyebrow that looks to have been painted on with makeup. Dozens of women like her carry Dalinar's words through the camps, reading them out and sometimes explaining them. It annoys her that one officer makes her repeat the whole proclamation three times, and then once more after that.
