Thaylen City

Thaylen City is the capital of Thaylenah, the island kingdom of Roshar's southern seas, part of the world of the Stormlight Archive from The Way of Kings onward. The city stands on the coast with its back against a mountain, climbing from its docks in stacked tiers, and its harbor is among the busiest in the world: the Thaylens are the great merchants and sailors of the east, their traders met in every port and their navy respected on every sea. Thaylen fashion is unmistakable, the men wearing their eyebrows grown long and styled, and the Thaylen tongue is the language of trade far beyond the island's shores. Merchant houses, shipyards, and counting rooms crowd the lower city while palaces and temples hold the heights, and in a world of storm and war, Thaylenah's power is bought and sold rather than conquered.
