A sparkflicker is a practical bit of Herdazian ornamentation with no real martial use. Each one works like the steel half of flint and steel: a Herdazian strikes it against his own dark, crystalline fingernails, with some kind of oil involved, and gets a burst of flame in the air. Lopen's habit of saying flick my sparks comes from them. Havarah, of mixed descent, did not wear one.
