Shinovar

Shinovar is a land at the far western edge of Roshar in the Stormlight Archive. Walled off by the Misted Mountains, which break the highstorms before they arrive, it is unlike everywhere else on the continent: soil covers the ground instead of bare stone, grass stands still rather than shrinking from footsteps, and trees hold their leaves in the wind. Animals the east considers oddities, horses, chickens, and pigs among them, are raised there and traded outward at great price. The Shin people keep to their valleys and their own ways; travelers report that they revere farmers above all others and rank warriors lowest, and that they will not walk on stone, which they hold sacred. To most Rosharans, Shinovar is a strange, soft country at the edge of the map.
