Seer

Seer is a term from the magic system of the world of Scadrial. Allomancy, the signature power of the world of Scadrial, works by burning metals: most Allomancers are Mistings, able to burn exactly one, and each kind of Misting has its own nickname in the trade, the way a Thug burns pewter for strength and a Tineye burns tin for senses. Seer is the name reserved for a Misting whose single metal is atium. Atium itself is the most precious substance in the Final Empire, a rare silvery metal formed into beads, hoarded by the Lord Ruler and the Great Houses, and spent as the ultimate currency of the nobility. What burning atium actually does, and who can do it, are closely guarded knowledge.
