Parshendi

The Parshendi are a people of Roshar. The name is Alethi, coined after King Gavilar's expedition encountered them near the Shattered Plains; it roughly means parshmen who can think, because they resemble the docile parshman servants kept throughout the east yet govern themselves, negotiate treaties, and field disciplined armies. On the night a treaty with Alethkar is celebrated, the Parshendi take responsibility for the assassination of King Gavilar, and the Alethi swear the Vengeance Pact against them. As the war on the Shattered Plains grinds on, Alethi soldiers observe warriors with skin marbled in red, white, and black, wearing orange carapace armor, who sing as they fight, leap the chasms in pairs, and grow furious when their dead are disturbed.
