Odium

Odium is a name out of the deep lore of the Cosmere. The name belongs to the margins: it surfaces in fragments of old writing and scholarship rather than in the talk of ordinary Rosharans, who name the Almighty in worship and the Voidbringers in their oldest nightmares. The word itself means hatred, and the scraps that carry it treat its subject as something ancient and fearful. Roshar is a storm-swept world whose kingdoms war on the Shattered Plains, and whose scriptures remember the Desolations, ruinous wars of the far past; it is among the fragments of that old darkness that the name Odium appears.
