Mateform

Mateform is the listener form for reproduction. Most couples take it only briefly, sequester themselves away from everyone else for a year, and leave it as soon as the female gives birth, though a few listeners keep the form permanently. Partners who later take warform together become a warpair. It is a distracting form that makes productive work difficult, and a listener in it has a hard time concentrating on anything useful, while seeming better able to hold an abstract idea than one in warform. Nothing prevents other forms from reproducing. Mateform is only a specialty. The change requires bonding a lifespren, and it happens during a highstorm.
