Luthadel is the Lord Ruler's seat, a soot-blackened city of close-packed stone tenements and towering noble keeps, with his vast palace of spires at its heart.
Ash falls on it often, and skaa crews clear the drifts from its black streets and carry them off to the river at the city's center. Its chief trade is metal, worked in hundreds of forges and refineries, and mills line the river. The palace is Kredik Shaw, named for its thousand spires, and any family able to build a keep and stay prominent here counts as a Great House.
