Lin Davar is a Veden brightlord of Jah Keved, head of House Davar and father to Shallan Davar and her brothers. House Davar was an obscure rural house until valuable marble deposits were found on its lands, and Lin has spent that money as a ruthless politician, making extravagant promises, bribes, and enemies in a bid to be named a highprince of Jah Keved. He was once a kind and loving father who wanted a happy family and a strong house. He is now paranoid and quick to anger, abusive toward his sons and overprotective of his daughter, whom he pampers and displays at his feasts as the Jewel of House Davar, keeping up the show that all is well with his family and its fortunes.
