Kholinar

Kholinar is the capital of Alethkar, the most powerful of the Vorin kingdoms of Roshar, and the home of the royal house Kholin in the Stormlight Archive, beginning with The Way of Kings. The city rises among the windblades, enormous curving fins of natural rock whose strata run in brilliant bands of red, orange, yellow, and white; folk tradition says the Almighty drew the city into the stone with a finger. Kholinar is ancient, with accounts of it reaching back to the Heraldic Epochs, and it has been rebuilt many times across its long history of storms and wars. The king and his highprinces are away east, prosecuting the war on the Shattered Plains, but Kholinar remains the seat of the kingdom, the site of its palace, and the symbolic heart of Alethi power.
