White Harbor
White Harbor is the only city of the North in A Song of Ice and Fire, seat of House Manderly at the mouth of the White Knife, the region's great trade port and the largest settlement north of the Neck.
The North has only one city, and it is White Harbor, seat of House Manderly, on the map of A Song of Ice and Fire from A Game of Thrones onward. It stands at the mouth of the White Knife, the principal river of the North, and though it is the smallest of Westeros's cities, it is the largest settlement north of the Neck and the North's window on the sea. The trade of the southern kingdoms passes through its harbor, and with the trade come southern ways: more knights and more followers of the Faith of the Seven live in White Harbor than anywhere else in the North, where the old gods otherwise hold. Its fishing grounds are rich, its silversmiths well reputed, and its merman banner flies over a clean, well-ordered port of whitewashed stone.
