Vaes Dothrak

Vaes Dothrak is the one city of the Dothraki, standing in the northeast of the Dothraki Sea near the Mother of Mountains and the lake they call the Womb of the World, from which, in their telling, the first man rode out upon the first horse. The city has no walls and sprawls in the sun, wide enough to hold every khalasar at once should they all come home together; Daenerys Targaryen reckons it ten times the size of Pentos. It is kept by slaves and by the dosh khaleen, the widows of the khals who came before, and within its bounds no blade may be worn and no free man's blood spilled. The way in is the Horse Gate, two huge bronze stallions whose hooves meet a hundred feet above the road to make an arch, and beyond it runs the godsway, lined with holy images carried off from a hundred religions.
