Tyrion Lannister is the dwarf son of the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, youngest of Lord Tywin's children, brother to Queen Cersei and Ser Jaime, a sharp-tongued man who rides north with the royal party.
At the welcoming feast in Winterfell, Tyrion Lannister waddles along half hidden at his brother's side, with an oversized head, a heavy brow and one eye green and one black. That night, too warm and too full of wine for the hall, he perches above its door like a gargoyle, then tumbles down to meet Jon Snow's direwolf. He names Jon plainly for what he is, and counsels him to turn it into a strength no one can use against him.
