Ten Towers is the seat of House Harlaw on the island of Harlaw and the newest castle in the Iron Islands, and it is described in A Feast for Crows. Lord Theomore Harlaw raised it because he blamed the damp of the old seat, Harlaw Hall, for the loss of three infant sons; being an indecisive man, he built ten separate keeps rather than one and joined them with bridges and walkways. Two great scythes of silver hang above the high seat of House Harlaw in the main hall. The Widow's Tower takes its name from Gwynesse Harlaw, widowed at the Battle of Fair Isle, who came home to grieve there. The Book Tower, fattest of the ten and octagonal, holds the library of Lord Rodrik Harlaw.
