Tarth
Tarth is a mountainous island in the narrow sea called the Sapphire Isle for its blue waters, seat of House Tarth at Evenfall Hall and home of Brienne of Tarth, who enters A Song of Ice and Fire in A Clash of Kings.

It enters A Song of Ice and Fire in A Clash of Kings, as the home of House Tarth, whose seat is Evenfall Hall and whose lord is Selwyn of Tarth. The island is counted among the stormlands, sworn to Storm's End, and its people live by boat and harbor as much as by field. Lord Selwyn's only daughter and heir is Brienne, a lady of the island who sets aside needlework for sword and shield; her upbringing on Tarth teaches her boats and tides from earliest childhood, and she comes on stage in A Clash of Kings.
