A Maester of the Citadel at Faircastle in the early reign of Jaehaerys I, serving Lord Marq Farman and then his son Franklyn.
Smike was a Maester of the Citadel who served at Faircastle in the early years of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen. He kept his chain for Lord Marq Farman and then for Marq's eldest son Franklyn when Marq died in 50 AC. His letters to the Citadel carry an account of Franklyn's confrontation with Princess Rhaena Targaryen, whom Franklyn ordered off Fair Isle: Smike doubted his lord knew how near he had come to dying.
