A King of the Vale and grandson of Artys I Arryn, fostered in the Riverlands and widely travelled as a young knight.
Roland I Arryn came home to the Vale to take up the Falcon Crown with the great halls of other kings fresh in his memory. He was a grandson of King Artys I Arryn, fostered with an Andal king in the Riverlands as a boy, and after he was knighted he travelled Westeros widely, seeing Oldtown, Casterly Rock and the castles of the Trident among many other places. He reigned twenty six years, and the Eyrie atop the Giant's Lance was begun in his time.
