Lord Roger Reyne, the Red Lion of Castamere, was head of House Reyne and one of the great powers of the westerlands under Lord Tytos Lannister. He was headstrong and quick to anger, and a soldier by preference: he fought at Starpike in the Peake Uprising and afterwards commanded the Lannister host in the War of the Ninepenny Kings, where he knighted his squire Kevan Lannister. While his sister Ellyn ruled Casterly Rock in all but name, he and his younger and subtler brother Reynard spent their days there and were showered with honours.
