Ser Robert Ashford was the younger son of the reigning Lord Ashford and an anointed knight in the reign of King Daeron II Targaryen. When the tourney at Ashford Meadow was held he stood as one of the five initial champions for his sister, the Queen of Love and Beauty, alongside his brother Ser Androw. In the first tilt Ser Lyonel Baratheon beat him, after ten broken lances and a fight on foot.
