He weds Elia Martell of Dorne, who bears him two children. The realm's memory of him is divided, for the rebellion that ends Targaryen rule begins when Rhaegar carries off Lyanna Stark, Lord Eddard's sister. King Robert curses his name to this day; others who knew the prince speak it softly.
