Qarth is a far eastern land whose traders and warlocks wander west, one of the wonders Ser Jorah longs to show Daenerys.
Qarth comes up as a distant name in talk of the east. A trader from the city tells Doreah that the moon is where dragons come from, and in a tale Samwell Tarly tells, a pair of pale, blue-lipped Qarthine warlocks bathe him in a slaughtered aurochs's blood, vowing it will make him brave. Jorah names it alongside Yi Ti and Asshai among the marvels he begs Daenerys to go and see.
