Orys Baratheon is the childhood friend and champion of Aegon the Conqueror, whispered to be his baseborn half-brother, and the man Aegon calls his strong right hand, reckoned the first King's Hand.
During the Conquest he leads the greater part of Aegon's host south toward Storm's End, and he meets the last of the Storm Kings, Argilac the Arrogant, in open battle and slays him. In reward Aegon grants him the fallen king's seat and lands and the hand of his daughter Argella, and Orys takes up her family's sigil, honors and words, founding House Baratheon.
