Orys Baratheon

Orys Baratheon, called Orys One-Hand, was the founder of House Baratheon, the first Hand of the King and the first Lord Paramount of the Stormlands, and Fire and Blood records his part in the Conquest. He was born at Dragonstone, and it is widely held that he was a natural son of Aegon the Conqueror's father Aerion, and so Aegon's half-brother. Half Valyrian by that account, he nonetheless had the look of the Durrandons of Storm's End, black of hair and black of eye. He and Aegon grew up together, and Aegon counted him his only true friend; when Aegon came into Dragonstone, Orys was his most trusted counsellor and right hand, and shared command of the garrison there. In the War of Conquest he defeated King Argilac Durrandon at the Last Storm, and afterwards he wed Argilac's daughter Argella.
