Morgon Banefort and his thralls were beaten by King Loreon I Lannister, the King of the Rock, in a war that ran twenty years. He had a reputation as a necromancer, and as he died he cursed the men who had vanquished him and swore he would come back from the grave. Loreon had the corpse chopped up and fed to his lions. Two years on, the lions broke free inside Casterly Rock and killed three of his sons.
