Margaery Tyrell is the only daughter of Lord Mace Tyrell of Highgarden in A Song of Ice and Fire, sister of Ser Loras, the Knight of Flowers, a courteous and clever young noblewoman who comes on stage in A Clash of Kings.
The Tyrells of Highgarden have one daughter in the present generation: Margaery. She is the child of Lord Mace Tyrell, Warden of the South, and his wife Alerie of House Hightower, sister to Willas, Ser Garlan, and Ser Loras, the young knight the realm calls the Knight of Flowers. Raised at Highgarden among the roses of the richest lands in the Seven Kingdoms, Margaery is accounted beautiful, with curling brown hair and a lively, watchful intelligence behind her perfect courtesy. Her house stands at the head of the Reach and hungers to stand higher still, and through her family Margaery arrives near the center of great events in A Clash of Kings.
