Lysa Arryn

Lady Lysa Arryn, born Lysa Tully, is the younger daughter of Lord Hoster Tully of Riverrun, sister to Catelyn Stark and Edmure Tully, wife to Jon Arryn of the Vale and mother of his son Robert. As a girl she was thought a great beauty, with thick auburn hair, blue eyes and a slender figure, and she was sweet and kind if shy and nervous, given to fits of giggling and to long silences. Years at court in King's Landing, where her husband served as Hand of the King, and a succession of hard pregnancies have changed her: she has grown heavy and pale, works at it with scents, paints and powders, and carries a petulant look. She dresses in the blue of her husband's house. Suspicion has hardened in her until she sees enemies in every shadow, and she is fiercely protective of Robert, her only surviving child.
