King's Landing is the capital of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, a walled city of three hills at the mouth of the Blackwater Rush.
Sprawled across three tall hills where the Blackwater Rush meets the bay, King's Landing is the capital of the Seven Kingdoms and the largest city in Westeros. It serves as the seat of King Robert Baratheon's court. High walls pierced by seven gates ring the city, and each hill carries a landmark: the Red Keep on Aegon's High Hill, the Great Sept of Baelor on Visenya's Hill, and the derelict Dragonpit on Rhaenys's Hill, unused in the long years since dragons vanished from the world. Below them crowd streets of wood and plaster, from the manses of visiting lords down to the alleys of Flea Bottom, the poorest quarter. Aegon the Conqueror founds the city three centuries past on the spot where he first lands, and the Iron Throne has ruled from it ever since.
