Kevan Lannister is Lord Tywin's only surviving brother, a portly, balding knight whose short fair beard follows his heavy jaw, and who marches beside Tywin against the strongholds of the river lords.
Varys names Ser Kevan as the father of Lancel, a squire he calls stalwart. When Tyrion walks into the common room where Kevan sits over ale with Tywin, his uncle is the first to see him and greets him in surprise. Kevan reports Raventree falling at once and Lady Whent surrendering Harrenhal, and he warns that the Mallisters hold Seagard and that Walder Frey is mustering men at the Twins.
