Lord Jason Lannister was Lord of Casterly Rock and Warden of the West in the reigns of Viserys I and Aegon II Targaryen, the elder of twin brothers. Tall, dashing and golden haired, he and his twin Ser Tyland both courted Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen when she came west in 112 AC, and both spent freely on gifts, and neither of them had her. When the Dance of the Dragons broke out in 129 AC, Tyland was serving as master of coin to King Aegon II, and Jason declared for the greens alongside him. He raised a thousand knights and seven thousand archers and men at arms.
