Herndon of the Horn is one of the many children the tales give to Garth Greenhand, and the twin brother of Harlon the Hunter. The two are said to have founded House Tarly and to have built their castle on top of Horn Hill, where they took the woods witch who lived there to wife and shared her favour for a hundred years. The brothers did not age, provided each full moon brought them back to her.
