Harras Hoare came to power during the Andal Invasion of the Iron Islands, when House Hoare joined other Ironborn houses and the invading Andals in bringing down King Rognar II Greyiron. Legend has it the finger dance settled who would fill the empty seat, and that Harras was chosen at the cost of two fingers. Archmaester Haereg preferred a plainer account: marriage to an Andal warlord's daughter. He ruled ten years.
