Eyrie
The Eyrie is the mountain seat of House Arryn in A Game of Thrones, seven white towers high on the Giant's Lance above the Vale, held by Lady Lysa Arryn and her young son and reachable only by a narrow mountain ascent.
No castle in Westeros sits higher than the Eyrie, the seat of House Arryn, which looks down on the Vale from the shoulder of the Giant's Lance. It is the smallest of the great castles: seven slim white towers around a garden court, reached only by a narrow climb past the waycastles Stone, Snow, and Sky, and shut away entirely when winter closes the mountain. Its cells stand open to the air on one side, the sky cells, and its high hall holds the Moon Door, which opens onto six hundred feet of empty sky. The Arryns, Kings of Mountain and Vale in the old days, are Wardens of the East, and the Eyrie is home to Lady Lysa Arryn, sister of Catelyn Stark, and her young son Robert.
