Elys Arryn was the eldest of Lord Rodrik Arryn's children by his first wife, with a sister named Amanda and two brothers. She stayed in the Vale of Arryn while her father sat on the small council as Master of Laws. After her mother died Rodrik married again, to Princess Daella Targaryen, who was three years younger than Elys, and the two of them clashed from their first meeting.
