Castamere

Castamere was the seat of the ancient House Reyne in the Westerlands, west of Ashemark and south of the Crag, and its history is recorded in The World of Ice and Fire. It takes its name from a nearby pool. Like Casterly Rock it began as a mine, and its gold and silver made the Reynes near as rich as the Lannisters in the Age of Heroes. The house raised curtain walls and two stout towers over the entrance, and when the ore ran out the caverns were widened into corridors and halls, so that the works above ground look like the holding of a minor lord while nine parts in ten of the castle lie beneath it. Kevan Lannister served there as page and squire to Lord Robert Reyne. Castamere was the site of House Reyne's last stand in the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion, when they withdrew into the lower levels and Tywin Lannister had them flooded.
