Baelon Targaryen
Second son of Jaehaerys I and Alysanne, called the Spring Prince for the season of his birth and Baelon the Brave for striking Balerion on the snout as a boy.
Prince Baelon Targaryen was the second son of King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne, born in 57 AC two days after the Citadel announced the coming of spring, which earned him the name the Spring Prince. He earned a second name young. Taken to see the dragons, he struck Balerion the Black Dread on the snout, and a knight of the Kingsguard remarked that the boy was either brave or mad. Baelon the Brave won his spurs at sixteen at a tourney at Old Oak, riding as a mystery knight under the name the Silver Fool, and claimed the dragon Vhagar soon afterwards. He wed his sister Alyssa and fathered three sons by her: Viserys, Daemon and Aegon.
