Arlan of Pennytree

Ser Arlan of Pennytree was a hedge knight of the riverlands who bore a silver winged chalice on brown and rode the roads of Westeros for hire. He was small and slim in his later years, nearer sixty than fifty, a kindly man and free with praise. As a boy his grandfather took him to King's Landing to see the last dragon, which died the year after. He unhorsed Ser Damon Lannister at a tourney in Lannisport and Lord Stokeworth and the Bastard of Harrenhal in a melee in the capital, and he broke lances against Prince Baelor Targaryen at Storm's End, after which he gave up jousting, judging he would never do better. He took a boy out of Flea Bottom for a squire and called him Dunk.
