Alyssa Velaryon is the daughter of Aethan Velaryon, the Lord of the Tides, who weds Prince Aenys, son of Aegon the Conqueror, and rides beside him as his queen.
Like her husband she has silver hair and purple eyes, for the Velaryons spring from ancient Valyrian stock, and the match proves a happy one. She bears Aenys a string of children, among them Rhaena, Aegon, Viserys, Jaehaerys and Alysanne. She has a quick tongue too, and at court she teases her good-brother Maegor by asking aloud whether he fears dragons.
