Aemond Targaryen

Prince Aemond Targaryen was the second son of King Viserys I Targaryen by his second wife, Queen Alicent Hightower, born in 110 AC, and Fire and Blood tells his story. He was the younger brother of Aegon II and Helaena, half-brother to Rhaenyra, and elder brother to Daeron. At birth he was half the size his brother Aegon had been and twice as fierce, and he grew into a bold, wilful, hot-tempered boy and a dangerous swordsman who wore night-black armour chased with gold. At ten he lost his right eye in a fight with his nephew Lucerys Velaryon, and afterwards set a sapphire in the socket, covering it with a patch in open court so as not to frighten the ladies with his scars. Alone of his siblings he had no dragon, and when his father told him he might claim one on Dragonstone if he were bold enough, he set out in secret after Vhagar, the oldest and greatest dragon then living.
